HP300 Touchsmart
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

All in one Touchsmart 300 came with Win 7 - when Win 10 came out I upgraded.  I was having issues and did a Windows reset which kept my files but I lost all my apps and programs.  All the HP software was lost and HP no longer supports this PC so I can’t download...Is there anyway I can get this software back?  I read about an HP Recovery Manager but it said it was got PCs that came from factory with Windows 10 and mine was after market upgrade from Win 7 to Win 10..

Any ideas that may help?

@Shaun35

I'm not popular here because I provide folks accurate replies -- and those are not always positive.

Your case is one of these -- as there is nothing you can get from HP for this, and you can't restore using any built-in function because your Win10 upgrade trashed the recovery files in the process.

I don't know of any place you can get Windows 7 anymore.  MS has not carried it in years, HP has not carried it in years, and the online providers don't carry it anymore, either.

You can certainly go to Microsoft, download and create Win10 install media and use that, but that will not install HP drivers because MS only provides generic drivers.

Someone else might come along and tell you where you can get Win7 download, but until that happens, you are stuck.

In addition to what @WAWood wrote, I will ask: what happens if you actually try that "Recovery Manager" software? You seem to have "nothing to lose" by trying.

Since Windows 10 was "activated" when you upgraded from Windows 7, Microsoft knows the 25-character product-key that was used. This entitles you to reinstall Windows 10 onto the same computer, without purchasing another Windows 10 license.

Have you run the HP Support Assistant? It may locate, download, and install some HP-specific software.

Hello
if you want to go back to windows 7, there are solutions, but not through microsoft!
For the moment no change, you will find the other systems, but not possible for OEM versions of windows 7 (unless there is a tip, where you can have a temporary link)
If you want to reinstall windows 7, you must have the key, visible on the computer, for activation
However, there are still the problems with the original software, and drives, it will be necessary to search a little to recover them
so if you want windows 7, you can use the solution given here

you must use the same version as the original, exactly the same

@Prométhée

I used to provide these iinks too -- but in recent years, these have no longer worked.

So I checked one of the links, and as I suspected, it no longer provides downloads of Win1 ISOs.
