Recently did quite a few upgrades that the HP Support Assistant told me to do. Afterwords, my mouse has stopped scrolling down without extreme difficultly. Ironically the only place where this does not happen is in the Support menu. Can spin the wheel on this badboy like wheel of fortune and it will not scroll down...it scrolls up pretty much fine.

Here is what I've tried:
-Switching Mouses

-Switching USB ports

- Adjusting settings in the mouse drive

- Updating driver

-Uninstalling driver.

At my wits end...any ideas what is going on?

@BilMakJak Welcome to HP Community!

I understand that the mouse will not scroll down.

Do not worry. I will try to fix the issue.

In order that I may provide you with an accurate solution, I will need a few more details.

  • When was the last time the mouse was working fine?
  • Have you made any software or hardware changes on the computer?

Meanwhile, I recommend you follow the below steps and check if it helps.

  1. Open control panel and double click mouse icon.
  2. Within the Mouse Properties window, select the Wheel tab and try adjusting the number of lines to scroll the mouse or try changing the mouse to scroll one page at a time.
  3. After this has been adjusted, click Apply and then click OK. Verify this change helps correct your mouse issues.

If the issue persists, I recommend you contact HP phone support to further diagnose the issue.

Here is how you can get in touch with phone support.

Open link: www.hp.com/contacthp/

Enter a Product number or select to autodetects

Scroll down to "Still need help? Complete the form to select your contact options"

Scroll down and click on HP contact options - click on Get phone number.
