If the mouse isn't working correctly after a reinstall, there is something else really wonky with the motherboard perhaps. I  would contact HP Support and explain Everything that doesn't work. They will probably have you send it to them but I think that will be the only way to get to the bottom of this.

I agree, if there are others with the issue, they aren't coming forward.

After very careful observation I determined that the system was having problems with the updates for programs that had been installed on the 😧 drive due to the small size of the solid state C: .  The other item I suspected was an issue was that I had installed ZoneAlarm anti virus software in lieu of the McAfee. I have used ZoneAlarm on a number of HP units over the past several years without issue. I replaced the C: drive with a 2T solid state drive so that all my programs are installed on the C: drive. I reinstalled the original factory installed software,  replaced the supplied McAfee with a free version supplied by my internet provider. I have installed all my personal software and the unit has been up for about a month and Omen Command center is still functional.  And all the associated Omen errors no longer appear.

I do not know if updates erroneously installed on the C: drive were causing the problems or some setting in ZoneAlarm. Everything appears to be working and is backed up so I think I am good.  Just would have liked to identify the exact root cause but it is just not worth any more of my time.  I want to thank everyone for their input.

Hi Cookie77037,

Good to hear the problem seems to be solved.

Computers are complex beasts. Sometimes it is very hard to find the cause of the problem.
