I have an HP All-in-one desktop pc and an HP Officejet 4658 printer. The printer works properly with my other devices but as of last week I have been unable to print in colour from my desktop. I have tried deleting and reinstalling the printer and the printer software from the HP website but the problem persists. The computer runs on Windows 10 and I have Microsoft 365 installed. I have exactly the same problem printing from a browser as I do with the 365 apps. The printer is configured to print in colour but I just get black and white. HP Smart knows that black and colour HP carttidges are installed - with plenty of ink!

Thanks for taking the trouble to reply. The greyscale option was not available. The solution turned out to be a radical removal of the printer via printui.exe, followed by a reinstallation through HPSmart, for which solution I am indebted to a post from Sandytechy20 some time ago. it took me two goes because the options on my pc are not identical but I am delighted to report that the printer driver is now working properly (currently at least, I have no idea why it took it upon itself to fail in the first place). It puzzles me that I cannot print in greyscale. i have been able to do that with the printer in the past and it has saved me a good deal of ink, but the problem is not troublesome enough to warrant spending hours trying to rectify.
