I have been setting up my new ENVY desktop 795-0017na over the last couple of weekends and I'd appreciate some guidance on where to install applications. I have installed various programs including my Antivirus, MS Office and MS SQL Server in C: Program Files and C: Program Files (x86). I now find that no programs will run - not even Settings / Add Remove Programs; perhaps I've used too much space on the C: Drive . Should I have installed these Apps on the 😧 Drive - despite the fact that it's called 'Data' and left the C: drive folders purely for Windows itself?
I have posted this on this 'board' because there was no appropriate option offered in the drop-down list!

Most apps don't give you a choice as to where to install them, but you will have to remove the ones you have already installed to reinstall them to a different drive.
But before you do that, read below ...
Here are some things you can do to recover some of the disk space:

Also, the community Win10 Forums has the following suggestions:

In addition, I have found the utility Cleanmgr+ to have LOTS of options for removing Windows junk, including log files. I use it practically every day. You can get it from here: https://www.getclone.app/download/category/11-cleanmgr
Also, there is a freeware app known as Wise Disk Cleaner. I use it every day to get rid of junk files: https://www.wisecleaner.com/wise-disk-cleaner.html
