Touchsmart 610-1050f
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Need to do total reinstall of Windows 10  OS in order to correct for multiple performance issues. This action apparently will result in deletion of all existing applications and software.  How do I find and reinstalll many  HP applications factory installed (back in 2011)  with this desktop, in partucular those applications which control multiple Touchsmart functions?

 

Would be in debted for useful suggestions and advice..

To be honest, it's unlikely you are going to be able to do that.

 

Your PC most likely came with Win7 preinstalled and in that case, you would need something known as HP Recovery Media -- but HP has stopped carrying most of their Win7 recovery media, so it's not likely they would have it anymore.

 

After that, you would have to do the Upgrade to Win10 all over again -- but since your PC is already running Win10, it has been registered with MS, so it should reactivate without any problems.

 

You could contact HP Customer Support to find out, but I think you will be disappointed.

 

HP Recovery Media is a set of DVDs and a CD, or USB stick, that will erase the hard drive (removing all data, settings, and applications, reinstall the original OS, drivers, and some HP Utilities.

In some cases, you may be able to order a USB stick instead of disks. You have to order these from HP; they can not be downloaded.

You can look online for Recovery Media starting with the linked paged: http://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers

Once there, input your Product name or number. On your Software and Drivers Download page, select your Operating System and and Version. Click "Update".

If HP Recovery Media is available for your machine, down near the bottom of the page, you will see an entry for Order Recovery Media-CD/DVD/USB. Click the "+" symbol to expand that entry and click on Order Media for details.

When you get the media, if it is a USB stick, insert it into your PC, pressing F9 to get a Boot menu, then select the External USB Hard Drive to boot from it.
