Hi @Deanei2026,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for bringing this to our attention. If you've already removed the PC App Store application, that's a good first step. However, I understand your concern that remnants of the malware or potentially unwanted software may still be present on the system.

At HP, we do not have a public malware removal tool specifically for the PC App Store. For situations like this, we recommend performing a full antivirus and anti-malware scan to help identify any remaining threats, browser extensions, startup entries, or registry changes that may have been left behind.

If you would like professional assistance, HP offers HP SmartFriend, a dedicated support service where an HP technician can remotely connect to your PC, review the system, and help identify or remove unwanted software. Please note that SmartFriend is a fee-based support service.

Alternatively, if you have a full version of a security product installed (such as Norton, McAfee, Bitdefender, Malwarebytes, etc.), you may also contact the antivirus vendor's support team. Many antivirus providers offer malware-removal assistance and can guide you through a deep cleanup of the system.

Before proceeding, I would recommend:

  • Running a full antivirus scan.
  • Checking for any unknown browser extensions and removing them.
  • Reviewing installed applications for anything unfamiliar.
  • Ensuring Windows and your security software are fully up to date.

If you'd like assistance with HP SmartFriend, please let us know, and we'll be happy to point you in the right direction.

Take care and have an amazing day!

I'm an HP Employee.
