Resetting back to factory

HP Recommended
Hp all-in-one 20-c023w

Ok. I can get all the way to reset my computer back to factory settings and I can choose the either 2 options it gives but when I choose to save my files & reset, but i can't seem to remember the password to login into my account.. but if it acts like it's going to do the process of resetting, a message pops up saying, "there's a problem resetting your computer" and it obviously doesn't reset to back to factory.

The computer is super retarded slow and takes forever to even get to the login screen and then id it even does login the screen starts flashing from the home screen of the account that was logged in and a black screen but unable to actually click on anything to get to anything...

hopefully someone will be able to help me with this issue because I've tried everything I know to do and I'm at my wits end and I'm ready to just trash the computer and go buy another one... thank you for the time it will be greatly appreciated if it works or doesn't...

Hi:

I can't help you with why the factory reset option isn't working, but you should be able to clean install W10 as follows...

To reinstall W10...Use the Media Creation Tool.  Make the 64 bit installation media.

https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10

You can make a W10 USB flash drive installer using an 8 GB flash drive using another Windows PC, since your PC is not working.

W10 will find the product key in the BIOS, install and automatically activate once you are connected to the internet.

Here are the steps to create the W10 USB flash drive installer...

  1. Select Download tool now, and select Run.
  2. If you agree to the license terms, select Accept.
  3. On the What do you want to do? page, select Create installation media for another PC, and then select Next.
  4. Select the language, edition, and architecture (64-bit or 32-bit) for Windows 10. You want 64 bit.

  5. Select which media you want to use:
  6. USB flash drive.  Plug in a blank USB flash drive with at least 8GB of space. Any content on the flash drive will be deleted.

After W10 installs, you can install the drivers and available software from your PC's support page.
