SDD & HDD Drives and saving files

Hi, First let me say that I know very little about computers. I've just purchased a HP Envy 34 Curved with 500GB SSD and 2 TB HDD. I,m in the process of transferring files over from my laptop. I've transferred 239 GB of music to 'my music'. I've just tried to transfer 141 GB of pictures to 'pictures' but a pop up has said that there is not enough space to do so. I'm guessing that I've saved the music to the SSD drive and am attempting to do the same with the pictures. How do I save stuff to the HDD drive?

How do I transfer the music onto the HDD and remove it from the SDD? How can I set things up to automatically save music, movies, photos, documents etc to the HDD and programmes to the SSD? (as I think this is how things should be done?) Many thanks

The default save location for anything is your User folder in the OS drive, and that is the SSD.

You can move stuff by doing the following:

1) Open the File Explorer

2) Look under This PC on the left for the Music, Pictures, and Videos folders.  Those are probably where your stuff is being stored at present.

3) You can move your folders from C: to your other drive by following the instructions in this video:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=djNe3eCq-Gc

Then, you can follow the instructions in this post to change the default location of your Videos folders to a different drive:  https://www.tenforums.com/tutorials/74955-move-location-videos-folder-windows-10-a.html

You can use the same procedure to change the default location of your Music and Pictures folders.

Also, if you are downloading from Browsers, you need to go into each one and change the default download location to your other drive.
