Are the HP Support Assistant Essential Windows Updates for the Support Assistant or the Windows Operating System or both?

If I'm getting updates via Windows Update, should I also install the updates from the Support Assistant?

Can the updates conflict with updates from Windows Updates?

Greeting @larrymcg

Thanks for the post.

I understand that you are looking to know if HP Support Assistant will conflict with Windows updates, is that right?

Not to worry, I will be glad to assist you.

Are you facing any issues with your computer?

To the best of my knowledge, HP Support Assistant will give you the driver updates tested on your computer.

Windows updates are released by Microsoft for all computers, not just HP.

You can allow both to install updates for your computer, there should not be any issues.

Refer to this HP Article to know more about HP Support Assistant.

I'm not having problems with my PC.  I'm just concerned about getting updates for the same software from two different sources (Windows Update and the HP Support Assistant). And descriptions of updates with generic names like Essential System Updates don't convey much info about what's in them.
