Microsoft Windows 8.1 (64-bit)

I recently built a gaming computer using this CPU and I'm trying to get rid of the exclamation mark by SM bus Controller but when i try to download the Intel Management Engine Driver it says this platform is not supported and I don't know what that means or how to fix it.

Hi:

You need to install the Intel Chipset Installation Utility and driver to install the SMBus controller device...

This package installs Intel Chipset support on the supported desktop models and operating systems. This package contains the chipset support that was supplied with the customer image for the supported platforms.

I followed this link and it said Error: File copying was not successful and exited setup. I've ran into this problem before when I tried to download this.

See if this driver works for your PC...

I think this worked! I checked system devices and i don't even see sm bus controller let alone the exclamation mark so I think it's okay. Thank you!

You're very welcome.

You are fine now.

If you want to see the device the driver installed, go to the device manager, click to expand the system devices category and find the Intel series (whatever yours is) SMBUS
