The hp software updater will not load for windows 11. My computer keeps freezing and going black before coming back which I think is an issue with the video driver/graphics card. But neither the AMD or hp updater seems to support windows 11 so I can't get my drivers/video card to update. Anyone have a solution?

Hi:

According to the specs for your PC, it comes with a Nvidia GTX 1650 graphics card.

Have you tried the W11 driver from Nvidia?

Hi, thank you for responding. My computer had an upgraded graphics card and is a AMD Ryzen 5 5600G with Radeon Graphics. I've tried the AMD Radeon software updater, but it will download and update, but when I restart it won't have actually updated it seems.

You're very welcome.

The only other suggestion I can offer, would be to directly download the W11 Recommended (WHQL) AMD graphics driver for the processor your PC has from the link below...

Thank you again. I tried downloading the recommended update through you're link. But when I restart my computer, the AMD drivers are not the fully updated (it basically says I didn't update). It seems like other people online are experiencing similar problems with their AMD drivers and windows 11.

You're very welcome.

Unfortunately, I don't have any other easy suggestions you can try.

You can try forcing the driver update manually.

First create a system restore point, so you can go back to the current configuration.

You would need to install the free 7-Zip file utility.

7-Zip

After you install 7-Zip, right click on the AMD driver file you downloaded and saved.

Select More options and select 7-Zip from the list of items on the menu.

Have 7-Zip extract to: and let it extract the driver into its folder name.

Once that is done, go to the device manager.

Click to expand the Display adapters device manager category.

Click on the AMD graphics adapter listed there.  Click on the driver tab.  Click on Update driver.

Select the "Browse my computer for drivers option,' and then at the bottom of that window, select the 'Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer.'

Click on Have Disk and browse to the driver folder that 7-zip created>Packages>Drivers>Display>WT6A_INF>U0372545 (setup information file) and see if the driver will update that way.
