Hi:

It appears that HP 6300 Pro desktop product number came with W8 from HP, and if that is the case, the product key is encrypted in the PC's BIOS.

If you had W10 on the PC before, you don't need to enter a product key.

Select the version of W10 you had previously upgraded to (Pro or Home).

Then when you get to the screen that asks for a product key, select the 'I don't have a product key' option and W10 will install and then activate after you are connected to the internet.

Your PC's processor does not meet Microsoft's minimum W11 hardware requirements.

Intel processors need to be 8th generation or newer.

However, you can run W11 if you want.

After you get W10 installed, if you are interested in installing W11 on your PC as is, you can read this discussion for how I upgraded several HP and Dell notebook and desktop PC's that did not meet the W11 hardware requirements to W11 22H2.

You have to use the version of the Rufus utility that I zipped up and attached in the discussion (v3.18).

If the in-place upgrade fails, you should be able to clean install W11 using the bootable W11 installation flash drive you made with Rufus.

33.jpg22.jpg11.jpgHello

I have other issue. I want to upgrade Memory(RAM). Currently I used 2GB x 4 (8GB). And then, I bought 8GB x 2 and install to MB. Motherboard is 4 slots. But some error message appear. I tried to reset CMOS but still error message.

Should I used 8GB x 4  = 32GB (or) 4GB x 4 = 16GB.

Best Regards.

Hi:

The PC supports 4 x 8 GB off DDR3/L-1600 memory.

All you need to do is to press the F1 key and continue on to record the new memory configuration.

Make sure you install the same capacity memory in slots 1 and 3 and 2 and 4.

For example:  If you have 2 x 8 GB sticks and 2 x 4 GB sticks, you install the 8 GB sticks in slots 1 and 3 and the 4 GB sticks in slots 2 and 4.

Thanks for your fast reply.

I have 2x8GB sticks so I should put in slot 1 and 3. Is that correct?

HP Recommended

You're very welcome.

Yes, that is correct.

If you only have 2 x 8 GB of memory, install it in slots 1 and 3.

Special thank again. I will do it ASAP when I arrive home and I will let you know.

For example. When I put 2x8GB to slot 1 and 3 if still error message appear what should I do.

You're very welcome.

You shouldn't get the error after you press the F1 key if you have 2 x 8 GB of memory installed in slots 1 and 3.

The service manual is helpful in telling you where to install the memory chips.
