Can someone please tell me what activehealth.exe is? all I have been able to determine is that "ActiveHealth.exe is known as HP Active Health and it is developed by Hewlett-Packard ."  After I boot my system , the disk access light will come on and stay on steady. When I go to the performance monitor I can see that activehealth.exe is doing a massive amount of I/O. This continues until the PC freezes and requires a re-boot. When I run in safe mode, this does not happen. I also noticed that in safe mode, Activehealth.exe is not running. What is this program doing that might cause the I/O?

Royearle, welcome to the forum.

The HP Active Health.exe monitors your computer to assure that it is running properly.  I believe the way to fix your problem is to install the latest version of HP Support Assistant here.  You should choose the correct version for your computer.
