Windows Update receiving error 0x80070570

HP All in one: 20-c023w
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Getting the following error when attempting to get latest windows updates:

Some update files are missing or have problems. We'll try to download the update again later. Error code: (0x80070570)


I have the option to retry but never succeeds.  I've also tried to reset the PC and end up receiving the same 0x80070570 error.  There are no other issues I can see with the system so far, although I noticed indexing was turned off (I didn't disable it).  I've turned it back on but haven't rebooted to see if the setting sticks.


My last successful update was in December (2020-12 Cumulative update for Windows 10 Version 2004 for x65-based systems (KB4592438)

KB4023057 onwards have failed with 0x80070570 error.


Any help on how to fix this?

Historically, this has been a generic error code indicating that some of the Windows Update components did not download properly -- as was often the case if folks had their PCs connected to the Internet using only WiFi.  The solution was to connect the PCs using an ethernet cable and retry the update.  That generally worked.  So, if you are using WiFi, this is something to try.


More recently, this has become a catchall for Windows Update errors, with the working solution being resetting Windows Update and trying again -- with limited success.  Here is a thread with instructions on how to do that:


And most recently, this has become a widespread problem -- as I have two PCs that now are experiencing this and my only solution is to use UUPDUMP to download and create an ISO file to do a Repair Install.
