Dear Friends,

Just bought this new HP Desktop Omni All-In-One.  It isn't even a week old.  I use the ancient wordprocessing system WordPerfect.  I had it on the older desktop and it ran great.  On this new one, there seems to be pauses in the time I hit a letter key and the time it appears on the screen.  Sort of a "lag time".  Is this machine under warranty or do I have to buy that Smart Friend support?  I've already paid about $2,000.00.  Is there any tech support available or can any of you recommend a fix?  Thank you so much.

Bob

Hi @bobpegritz

This is standalone software and cannot be the cause of a warranty claim; the warranty covers the hardware, not the software.

I recommend that you disconnect any printers connected to WordPerfect and disable the spell-checker, if it is enabled.

Hi Resistancia,

Thank you for your very kind recommendation, however it did not work.  Spell checker is off and disconnet printer did not solve the isse.  But please know how much I appreciate your suggestions.

With the statement  "I use the ancient word processing system WordPerfect. " That actually could mean several things.  I remember when WordPerfect was indeed the best application, but it depends on the version, nowadays.

Word Perfect is still around, so which version are you trying to use?

If it is a version from long ago, it might be too old to work with Windows11.(which is what I assume this new HP has)

I didn't explain myself clearly. You should uninstall the printer from Windows and try again.
