Provide basic functionality for your printer using the Add a Printer procedure.
Control Panel > icon view > Devices and Printers >
Along the top ribbon, Click Add a Printer >
When the print search starts, Click "The printer I want is not listed"
Example of the procedure (in fact several examples) can be found in Dragon Document:
Install Full Feature Software - Printer
Section: Add a Printer > subsection Add a Printer – The Printer I want isn’t listed
Hints:
Remember to click the "Windows Update" box to refresh the printer list. Wait -- it can take several long minutes to update the list.
Left column: HP
Right column: HP Laserjet 1020 (scroll about half-way down the list)
Click Thumbs Up to say Thank You!
