How can i update my bios

pc compaq 6200 pro

current version is 2.15

operating system windows 10 64 

i downloaded the last version (it is v 5.03)and  it was extracted in c driver in hard disk and put it in a flash memory 

how can i upgrade bios 

can i upgrade from windows not from dos

Hi:

 

The file you are trying to install is not a BIOS update.

 

It is a BIOS utility which does the following...This package contains the Replicated Setup and POST Image Flash BIOS support utilities for supported desktop models running a supported operating system. The Replicated Setup utility enables system settings to be ''replicated'' throughout an enterprise. See Repsetup.txt after installing.

 

The latest BIOS update (v2.31) can be found under the Windows 7 driver section.

 

I advise you not to try installing a windows based flash that was not written to work on W10.

 

Running the update in W10 could permanenty wreck your PC.

 

If you have to update the BIOS (there really is no compelling reason for you to do this), update it using the F10 BIOS update method.
