Greetings,
I am new user. Today i seen that there is a lot of storage occupied in my laptop, so I decided to clear it.
Then I notice there are 3 HP One Agent in my laptop.
Shouldn't there be only one installed.
One more thing I try (but didn't install it) to install Windows10 ISO file for my virtual box is it the reason for that.
Please tell me that it's not a malware.

Hi @nyxion,
Welcome to The HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I understand you are having multiple instances of HP One Agent installed on your laptop might seem unusual, but it is not necessarily malicious. HP One Agent is part of the HP Support Assistant suite and is used to manage hardware health and updates. Let’s address your concerns step by step:
1. Why are there three HP One Agents installed?
- Possible Explanation: Multiple versions of HP One Agent could exist due to incomplete updates or residual files from prior installations.
- Normal Setup: There should typically only be one active instance of HP One Agent. Duplicate or outdated versions may occupy extra storage without serving a purpose.
2. Check for malware risk
- Scan your system: Use Windows Security or a trusted antivirus program to scan for malware. HP One Agent itself is a legitimate program, but it’s good to confirm no malicious versions were installed.
- Verify the source:
- Navigate to the file location of each HP One Agent (C:\Program Files (x86)\HP One Agent\ or a similar path).
- Check the digital signature to ensure it’s signed by HP Inc..
- If it’s not signed, or you cannot identify its origin, delete it after verifying it's not required.
3. Managing HP One Agent Installations
- Open Settings > Apps > Installed Apps (Windows 11).
- Search for "HP One Agent."
- Uninstall duplicate or outdated versions, but leave one instance to maintain HP Support Assistant functionality.
4. Regarding the Windows 10 ISO for VirtualBox
- Unrelated: The attempt to install Windows 10 ISO would not lead to multiple HP One Agents being installed.
- Storage impact: If you downloaded the ISO, it might take up significant space (4-6 GB typically). Check your downloads or virtual machine files to reclaim storage if necessary.
5. Clearing Space
To free up more storage:
- Run Disk Cleanup: Open Start Menu > Search "Disk Cleanup" and remove unnecessary files.
- Check for large files or duplicate files using Storage Sense in Settings > System > Storage.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.

Hello! Welcome! It's not malware, but it's understandable to be concerned. The multiple instances of HP OneAgent could be due to different versions installed by system updates or software installations. You might have multiple entries if updates or drivers were installed for different functions (e.g., for system monitoring or HP support).
The attempt to install the Windows 10 ISO for VirtualBox shouldn't cause this issue, but it's a good idea to double-check by running a full system scan with Windows Defender or your preferred antivirus software. If you’re still unsure, you can uninstall the extra HP OneAgent versions through the Control Panel or Settings.
If the problem persists, feel free to reach out for more guidance!
