My HP Victus Laptop's keyboard driver is missing or corrupt and has been disabled. How and where can I obtain and re-install it? I am currently using an external USB keyboard temporarily but would like to have my laptop's keyboard fixed.

Hi @EveCal_0624,

Thanks for reaching out!
We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.
Sorry for the inconvenience caused don’t worry let me help you.
To better understand the issue, could you please provide a few more details?
- Are you seeing any error messages in Device Manager related to the keyboard driver?
- Which version of Windows are you currently running (Windows 10 or Windows 11)?
In the meantime, here are a few troubleshooting steps you can try:
- Check Device Manager
- Press Windows + X and select Device Manager.
- Expand Keyboards and see if your internal keyboard is listed. If it shows a yellow warning icon, right-click and choose Update driver.
- Run Windows Update
- Go to Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update and check for updates. Sometimes Windows automatically reinstalls missing drivers.
- Download Drivers from HP Support
- Visit the official https://support.hp.com/in-en/drivers and enter your laptop’s model (HP Victus).
- Navigate to the Drivers & Software section, select your Windows version, and download the latest keyboard or chipset drivers.
- Use HP Support Assistant
- If installed, open HP Support Assistant and run a scan. It can automatically detect missing or outdated drivers and reinstall them.
- Perform a Hard Reset
- Shut down your laptop, disconnect the power adapter, and hold the power button for about 15 seconds.
- Reconnect and restart to see if the keyboard is detected again.
I hope this helps.
