Hi @dnadito,

Good Day! Thanks for taking an interest in the HP Support Forums! I read your post about the missing brightness bar. I will be delighted to assist you with this. 🙂

Fabulous diagnosis and superb analysis of the issue before posting.  Kudos to you on that score. 🙂 It is always a privilege to work with technical specialists like you. 🙂

You are a valued HP customer and it is paramount to assist you here. We greatly appreciate you for doing business with HP. I take it as a privilege to share this platform with you. 🙂

For better clarity and to assist you better I would require more information regarding this.

  • Did this happen after a software or windows update?
  • Have you reinstalled the graphics drivers?

For starters please try a system restore to an earlier time before the issue started from this link: http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c03327545

Please select the option “Restore your computer when Windows starts normally”

Then restart the computer and check if the brightness slider bar has been restored.

If this does not do the trick for you please try these steps:

  • Try this:

  • Start -> Control Panel -> Hardware and Sound -> Device Manager.
  • In the Device Manager window, look for “Monitors”, then right-click your monitor and select “Uninstall”. Be sure to also check the “Remove driver” option. Once removed, click the “Scan for hardware changes” icon

That will hopefully bring back the adjustment bar!

There is a YouTube link included: Please check that out and follow the instructions mentioned in it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y8E3BQRzDEI

Please do not click on any link, image, ad or download as it is a YouTube link used only for viewing.

This should do the trick for you.

If it does not work, please uninstall the graphics driver software from device manager by following these steps:

Please select the correct operating system and follow the on-screen instructions.

Hope this helps.   I genuinely hope the issue gets resolved without hassles and the unit works great. 🙂  Please reach out for any issues and I'll be there to assist you. 🙂

To simply say thanks, please click the "Thumbs Up" button to give me a Kudos to appreciate my efforts to help.

If this helps, please mark this as “Accepted Solution” as it will help several others with the same issue to get it resolved without hassles

Thank you very much. Deleting the monitor driver works perfectly. I've been searching for a solution for this issue for a very long time. "Na gode"
