@somnathn, Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding the TouchPad on HP Notebooks!
We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.
If your touchpad is not working, there are several steps you can follow to resolve the issue:
Toggle TouchPad On/Off:
- Double tap the upper left corner of the TouchPad to turn it off, then repeat to turn it back on.
Perform a Hard Reset:
- Turn off the notebook.
- Remove the notebook from any docking station and disconnect all external devices.
- Unplug the AC adapter and remove the battery.
- Press and hold the power button for 15 seconds to drain any residual charge.
- Reinsert the battery, plug in the AC adapter, and turn on the notebook.
- Select "Start Windows Normally" if prompted.
Update Drivers:
- Go to support.hp.com and click on "Software and Drivers."
- Enter your model number to find your product.
- Choose your operating system and click on "Driver - Keyboard, Mouse, and Input Devices."
- Download and install the latest TouchPad driver.
Check for Windows Updates:
- Open settings through the search bar.
- Click on "Update & Security" and then "Check for updates."
- Install any available updates and restart your notebook.
Hope this helps!
Take care, and have an amazing day!
