Can I set the default download and other added files such as music to go to the larger hard drive

I figured out that I can open this pc to see the drives on the computer and drag and drop files to the "D" drive to save space on the"C" drive

I tried changing the default location of my music and documents to the D drive but when I check the properties on the file it still says its located in the C drive. I don't want to fill the C drive because of it's smaller capacity.
