Greetings,

Welcome back to the forum.

I am not a HP employee.

The HP factory recovery process using DVD media can take many hours, it is slowww!

You could install Windows 10 clean by getting W10 installation media at this (Link).

You must have had a problem if you are doing a factory recovery. The recovery hang you are now seeing could be caused by a bad HDD or some other hardware problem.

Run Boot time HP Diagnostics (Link) to check all hardware.

I had to unplug the ssd drive from the motherboard.  The first install did not find my total tb on drive c .  I had to delete all the partitions.  Use the floppy's to reinstall windows.  Finally after a long wait it did the setup and find the total tb of my drive.

A long effort but I got it done.

Thanks for the reply.
