HP Pavilion 500-314 Desktop PC
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Desktop will not play a DVD in E: drive.  CyberLink's "Power DVD" software comes up & says I must purchase an upgrade in order to play a DVD.  Certainly this computer ought to be able to play a basic DVD without purchasing additional software.  How do I play a DVD in my E: drive?

Hi,

Please download and install the following free software

    http://www.videolan.org/vlc/download-windows.html

It will play nearly all video file formats including BluRay. All you need: Open Disc and Play.

Regards.

Thanks so much.  Is there a way to stop the Cyberlink Power DVD from automatically appearing when a DVD is put in my E: drive?

Hi,

Please try the following way:

    http://www.howtogeek.com/236241/how-to-enable-disable-and-customize-autoplay-in-windows-10/

I ALWAYS stop/disable Autorun to avoid any nasty CD/DVD.
