I have a brand new built computer with 3 HP 22xw monitors attached via display and vga. my issue is that whenever loading videos or scrolling webpages, the displays flicker. this only occured since upgrading to windows 10. assumed it was the pc and after exstensive diagnostic of fresh windows install, new drivers, other monitors, new monitor cables. it all led to these 3 monitors. my issue only happens to monitors connected via the hdmi ports. wondering if there is a known fix out there?

I have had problems with the 27xw flickering when playing videos in Firefox. I noticed that when the HP display's menu was up, it did not blink on and off with the computer screen rendered behind it. This led me to discover that the solution is to open the NVidia control panel, go to "Adjust Desktop Color Settings" and change "Content type reported to the display" to either "Desktop Programs" or "Full screen videos". If that setting is on "Auto-Select (Recommended)" the display blinks off randomly.

Thank you for joining HP Forums.
I'll be glad to help you 🙂
As I understand 22xw monitor flickers with windows 10
Don't worry as I'll be glad to help, however, to provide an accurate resolution, I need a few more details:
Have you attempted to install the display drivers?
Have you checked any related HP Forums posts to resolve your concern?
While you respond to that, here's a few steps you could try:
Start the computer with a VGA cable, connect the HDMI and then disconnect the VGA cable to check if the HDMI continues to work if it doesn't update the BIOS, video card and chipset drivers using the hp website: Click here
Keep me posted,
If the information I've provided was helpful,
give us some reinforcement by clicking the solution and kudos buttons,
that'll help us and others see that we've got the answers!
Good Luck.

You've done a remarkable job performing the steps suggested earlier, great work 🙂
And don't worry, as we should be able to fix this up with a few more steps and I'll be with you until we ensure this issue is fixed.
If the issue doesn't occur during games and yet appears while refreshing the page,
I recommend you reduce the FPS to 60ghz and try again.
Step 1: First, Right click on the free area on the desktop, then click on “Display Settings”.
Step 2: Now, Click on the “Advanced settings”.
Step 3: Go to the “Monitor” panel.
Step 4: Under the Monitor settings, set “Screen refresh rate” and press “OK”.
Step 5: If you want to set the screen resolution as well, then click on “Adapter” and select “List All Modes”.
Step 6: From the list of modes, select the screen resolution and its corresponding refresh rate will set automatically. Then click on “OK” button.

Thank you for replying with this overwhelming and detailed response 😉
I appreciate your time and efforts,
Perhaps, you could try reducing the refresh rate a little more than usual and check if the issue persists,
Also, did you try connecting one monitor at a time to check if the issue occurs? (i suggest you do that if you haven't).
If the issue persists, though you've done the above,
you might want to consider updating the BIOS, Chipset and video card drivers using the HP website (If you haven't already).
Next, start button Open Task Manager by pressing the Ctrl+Shift+Esc keys on the keyboard at the same time. If that doesn't work, Right-Click Start button in the lower-left corner of your screen and then select Task Manager.
- If Task Manager doesn't flicker, an app is probably causing the problem.
- If Task Manager does flicker, a display driver is probably causing the problem.
If the issue persists, you may want to reinstall the windows as the last resort: Click here for details.
