Elitedesk 705 G3
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I recently had to change my desktop PC from an HP Elitedesk 705G1 to an Elitedesk705G3 which is a much smaller desktop with fewer ports. I've had 3 monitors on my 705G1 for years but the 705G3 only has 1 VGA port and 1 displayport port for monitors. Is there a way to hook up a third monitor to this little HP PC? Can a USB adaptor be used for a third monitor. Desparate for 3 screens again! Thank you!

Hello;

Allow me to welcome you to the HP forums!

The simple answer is yes -- you can use a USB-to-Video adapter to connect a third monitor to the PC.

There are different models of these adapters available, the price depending on the resolution you want to have on the third monitor.  I have 1920x1080 on my third monitor and the adapter, being USB2.0-to-VGA, only cost around $50 USD.

You can get either USB 2.0 or USB 3.0 adapters, and they can connect to VGA, HDMI, or DisplayPort -- whichever jack is on the third monitor.
