OK folks, here's the issue.  I have an HP EliteDesk 705 G3 SFF system.  I don't want to use the APU.  I have a Low Profile GTX-1050 that I would like to use.  I have installed the card and Window 10 knows that it is there.  I would like to make this card the primary display adapter.  I have searched through the BIOS and cannot find any way to make the PCI-E primary.  Is there something that I am missing?  Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

hi

" I have installed the card and Window 10 knows that it is there. "

What do you mean ?
you installed the graphics card, but the screen is connected to the motherboard, right?
if you are connected to the graphics card it will not work?
have you checked if the power supply in place is sufficient, for the graphics card

Hi there, thanks for the quick reply.  Sorry for MY late reply.  I've been pretty busy lately...  To answer your question, I physically installed the card.  When I restarted Windows 10 found drivers for it and it appears in the device manager.  The monitor is connected to the DisplayPort on the motherboard and it boots correctly.  When I connect it to the HDMI output on the GTX-1050 Low Profile card I get a black screen.  I checked the PSU and it is the stock SFF 200 watt PSU that came with the HP EliteDesk 705 G3 SFF.  I'm pretty sure you are correct in your assessment that the PSU is not powerful enough to activate the 1050.  Any suggestions on a PSU that I could purchase that would fit in the HP unit I have?  Thanks again for your assistance.   It is greatly appreciated...

Hmmm.  The MSI 1050ti Low Profile card consumes up to 75 W of power.  The Motherboard and CPU together probably consume about the same...  I should be OK, powering the MSI.  Can't seem, however, to make the GTX-1050 the primary display.  Typically in BIOS there is an option to make the PCI-E slot primary on most motherboards but I don't see this option in the HP EliteDesk 705...  Am I missing something?

do you have a link of the model of this card?
Normally when a graphics card is installed, this is automatic, it comes before the integrated, on the other hand you have a particularity, because if it is in place the integrated must also be deactivated
Possibly there is an option in the bios, but not always the case

Here is the link for the GPU that I have.

Recommended PSU is 300 watts but it says power consumption is up to 75 watts.  If I need to get a different SFF PSU I need some assistance finding one that will 1) Be 300 watts or more and 2) fit in the SFF case for the HP EliteDesk 705 G3 SFF.  Any help would be greatly appreciated...

have you checked for secure boot?
I do not have the impression that a 300w power supply is offered by hp for this model
