Hi all. My display just doesn't look right. Dark colors are transparent to the GHOST of the screen that was there immediately before. It continues even when I do a hard restart! Dark colors also jitter, almost like rainbow flashing movement? Black gets stripes of bright green and other pure light cell colors... or transparent ghosts of previous screens. Red turns pale and gets flashes of magenta. Bold colors are rendered as pastel.
The ghosting occurs even after a hard reboot. It is not a burn in, but the ghost or artifact is instead whatever was on screen the last time the computer was on-- That is showing through any dark colors on a page. I'm talking the whole screen, not like a small button.
Things I have tried:
- I have completed a full, clean, new install of Windows 11 from USB in the last few hours. No change. This surprised me!
- I did not import any prior settings, all starting fresh. It continued.
- It continues in Safe Mode.
- I have updated Windows, including any drivers.
- I ran Intel Support Assistant to fully delete and clean install Intel drivers for both the Intel graphics card and the Intel processor.
- Intel Support Assistant detected no issues with the graphics card or processor
- Attempted a few troubleshooting diagnostics and repair widgets in Windows; none detect any system issue
- Ran color calibration; did not help
- I have lots of drive space and am only running MS Edge and HP Support Assistant. System, no high demands on memory
- I turned on accessibility settings to reduce transparency (no change)
- I ran color calibration (no change)
I don't know if any of this helps... A few more details--
- In screenshots viewed on another device, the images of the screen look perfect
- I do not have another monitor to see if it is happening on a second monitor
- When I use Parallels to view this screen remotely from my laptop, it looks normal from the remote view
What could possibly be going on?
This is driving me crazy. It's been going on a few weeks now. Any suggestions?

When did this problem first appear?
After upgrading from 10 to 11?
After some Microsoft feature?
revert to old OS if necessary.

There is an HDMI-in port. Try connecting a DVD or Blueray or cable signal into it.
The connections to the touch display are on the right side: TOIUCH, OSD and Backlight. Try wiggling them to see if a bad connection.
