@sundusBatool, Welcome to HP Support Community,

Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue

I'm sorry to hear you're experiencing an issue with a black beam on your HP Pavilion laptop screen. Here are several troubleshooting steps you can try:

Restart Your Laptop: Start with a simple restart to see if the issue resolves itself.

Check Display Settings: Go to the display settings on your laptop and make sure there are no anomalies in the resolution or orientation settings.

Update Graphics Drivers: Ensure your graphics drivers are up to date. You can do this by visiting the HP Support website or using the HP Support Assistant installed on your laptop.

External Monitor Test: Connect your laptop to an external monitor. If the issue doesn’t appear on the external monitor, it may indicate a problem with your laptop screen.

Perform a Hard Reset: Turn off the laptop, disconnect all peripherals, unplug the power adapter, and remove the battery if possible. Hold down the power button for about 15 seconds. Then, reconnect the battery, power adapter, and any peripherals.

Check for Physical Damage: Inspect the laptop screen for any physical damage that might be causing the issue.

Take care and have a good day.
