Hello good.
Since last Friday, every time I play FC24, my computer screen turns off and the GPU fan starts working at maximum speed.
I play other games like Helldivers 2 or F1 23, which also consume a lot of GPU, but it doesn't happen to me in these.
I have monitored the temperatures and at the time of the blackout, it does not exceed 80º.
I have reinstalled the latest GPU drivers and reinstalled the latest W11 update.
Thanks in advance.

Hi @RaulRo,
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
I'd be happy to help you!
The issue you're experiencing with your OMEN By HP 45L Gaming Desktop PC GT22-0000i, where your computer screen turns off and the GPU fan ramps up to maximum speed while playing FC24, can be caused by several factors. Since other games don't exhibit this problem, it might be related to specific settings or conflicts with FC24. Here are some steps to diagnose and potentially resolve the issue:
1. Check Game-Specific Settings
Lower Graphics Settings:
- Reduce the graphics settings in FC24 to see if the issue persists. Lowering settings like resolution, texture quality, and disabling features like ray tracing can reduce the load on your GPU.
V-Sync and Frame Rate Limiter:
- Enable V-Sync or set a frame rate limiter to reduce the load on the GPU. This can prevent the GPU from running at maximum capacity and overheating.
2. Monitor System Resources
- Use Performance Monitoring Tools:
- Use tools like MSI Afterburner or HWMonitor to track GPU usage, temperature, and other parameters. Pay attention to any spikes or unusual behavior when the issue occurs.
3. Update Drivers and Software
Update GPU Drivers:
- Ensure that you have the latest GPU drivers installed. Sometimes beta drivers can provide fixes for specific game issues. Check the GPU manufacturer's website for updates.
Update Game:
- Make sure FC24 is updated to the latest version. Game developers frequently release patches to address compatibility issues and bugs.
4. Check for Power Supply Issues
- Ensure Adequate Power Supply:
- Ensure your power supply unit (PSU) is functioning correctly and providing enough power to the GPU, especially under heavy load.
5. Check for Overheating Issues
Inspect Cooling System:
- Verify that all fans and cooling systems are working properly. Clean any dust or debris that might be blocking airflow.
Reapply Thermal Paste:
- If the thermal paste on your GPU is old, consider reapplying it to improve thermal conductivity.
Please find the next steps in the next post.
Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance

Hi @RaulRo,
Please find the next steps below.
6. Check for Game-Specific Issues
Community Forums:
- Visit community forums for FC24 to see if other users are experiencing similar issues. There might be specific fixes or settings adjustments recommended by the community.
Official Support:
- Contact the game's official support for any known issues or patches that address this specific problem.
7. Check System Logs
- Event Viewer:
- Open the Event Viewer on your PC and check for any error messages or warnings that occur at the time of the blackout. This can provide clues about the root cause of the issue.
8. Run Diagnostic Tests
- HP Support Assistant:
- Use the HP Support Assistant tool to run diagnostic tests on your hardware. This can help identify any potential hardware issues.
9. Test with Different Hardware
Test with Another Monitor:
- If possible, test your system with a different monitor to rule out any issues with the display.
Test with Different GPU:
- If you have access to another compatible GPU, test your system with it to see if the issue persists.
By following these steps, you can narrow down the cause of the issue and potentially resolve the problem with FC24 causing your screen to turn off and the GPU fan to ramp up.
If the problem persists despite trying all these solutions, it might be worth reaching out to HP Phone Support for further assistance, as there could be a deeper hardware issue at play.
Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance
