Can I borrow a laptop while my desktop is under repair?

My All-In-One desktop is currently being repaired at HP.They keep pushing back the date for when it is going to be repaired. It has been with them for two months now, and there is still no sign of progress. Customer support always tells me that the screen has not yet shipped and that it is coming from China.

My question is, can I loan a laptop even though my computer being repaired is an All-In-One? I urgently need a laptop for my studies.
