Pavilion p6-2117c PC
Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

Can I upgrade the graphics card and PSU on my HP Pavilion p6-2117c?  I currently have the AMD Radeon HD 6530D Graphics card, with the latest (up to date) drivers, but one of the games my son purchased recently is complaining that the card is not robust enough and tells him to update the drivers, that are up to date.  What Graphics card can I upgrade to, and what power supply is required, mine is only 300W, and most newer graphics cards require more power.

@w8lift_1222 Welcome to HP Forums!

You may upgrade to any graphics card that uses the same PSU, and the PCI Express x16 (Gen 2.0) slot, although, I must let you know that HP recommends that you go easy on it as the device is equipped with parts that perform at its optimal performance and also, the upgradeable parts listed above are purely for your ease, though the decision to upgrade will be at your own discretion.

Perhaps, you could look at the game requirements and let me know what kind of graphics card it needs, so I can help tweak your device according to it, if possible or tell you what you need for an upgrade.

I hope that answers your query,

Thank you, Riddle_Decipher.  I will take your advice and order an EVGA - NVIDIA GeForce GT 1030 SC 2GB GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 Graphics Card.  It only pulls 30W, so I can use the same PSU that is in my box.  Thanks Again!
