My monitor's original power brick got soaked in water and I don't know if it is safe to use. I tried buying a replacement but they sent me a different model of power brick instead. I needed part 849650-003 and they gave me part 677774-001. Both power bricks output the same voltage and amperage.
Can I use the new one, or do I have to return it? Also, would the old one be unsafe to use?

Your machine is on the following list
https://partsurfer.hp.com/Search.aspx?searchText=849650-003
and it is NOT on the following list
https://partsurfer.hp.com/Search.aspx?searchText=677774-001
I would not use the second one
Regards.
