Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hello,
I can not save the settings in the HP Display Control, in the task bar, after each restart with power interruption, user-defined settings, such as color adjustments / brightness / contrast, are reset to the factory standard!
(The factory standard is very yellowish and without contrast!)
Is a firmware update from HP necessary here?
Greetings from Germany
Manfred!

@Marko40, Welcome to HP Support Community!

Let's try increasing the brightness of the laptops and check if that makes a difference,

Also, you may want to perform a color calibration to get the screen into your preference:

Before you start, make sure your monitor has been on for at least half an hour, so it's warmed up properly, and clean your monitor.

1. Right-click on the desktop and select Display settings

2. Click "Advanced display settings" at the bottom of the settings window.

3. Verify that your monitor is set to the recommended, native resolution. If it's not, set it to the recommended resolution at least for this calibration process.

4. Click "Color calibration" at the bottom of the advanced display settings window.

5. Click Next to start the colour calibration.

The wizard will walk you through adjusting your colour settings. You'll:

  • Set the display to the factory default colour settings, if your monitor allows you to do that
  • Adjust your display's gamma to match a sample image

  • Adjust the brightness and contrast

Adjust the colour balance

6.
At the end of the wizard, click Finish to save your settings.

You'll then be able to calibrate ClearType for sharper text.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.

Hello TEJ1602,
the color calibration was removed with the Windows10 update 1903 !!!
It must be searched for and executed via the search field "dccw.exe"!
Now I can use the Windows 10 color calibration.
But my question was, why the HP DISPLAY CONTROL (in the system tray) does not save my settings!
I open the HP Display Control - click on ADVANCED - go to the "COLOR" tab - select USER-DEFINED on the left and set the desired color calibration using the red / green / blue controls!
Then I close (there is no save button) the HP Display Control!
After a restart, the HP Display Control is selected in this window ("COLOR") again Standard instead of User-defined with my values !!!!!
What is the HP Display Control for, if my values / settings are not retained or saved?
Should I repeat the settings after every restart?
Every cheap monitor saves these settings, only HP does not!

I have updated the multimedia driver (HP Display Control Version sp104198.exe)!

Apologies for jumping in unannounced.

See this answer from one of our French Experts of our English Community:

The very last bit reminds you to install the HP Display Control from the Windows Store.

It might be that your installation of the application is simply not working and perhaps needs to be uninstalled / reset / (re)installed.

Microsoft Store - HP Display Control

OS

Windows 10 version 15063.0 or higher

If there are settings for the app, they might be located in the "Advanced Options" for the App.

Settings > Apps > Apps and Features

Scroll down, find, Left-Click on HP Display Control

Click Advanced Options

Not?

Close, but Not?

Wrong, misdirected, weak excuse for an answer?

Simply ignore...
