Cannot see entire screen on HP 2310m

Screen content on the edges of the display does not appear.  Appears outside viewable area.  Menu :: Image Control :: Custom Scaling is grayed out so I can't change anything.  Now understand, this area is still useable if I can guess correctly where to click.  

How do I adjust this kind of scaling so I can shrink the screen by maybe a few hundred pixels on all 4 edges?

@Jamez-J I suggest you update the drivers, if that doesn't help, uninstall the same, restart the devices and check if it works, also, it would help, if you could share a screenshot or picture of the issue, so we can work on an apt solution.
