HP Pavilion a6745f, HP p24v g4
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I ordered a HP p24v g4 monitor and seems it has VGA & HDMI connectors. My PC (Pavilion a6745f) only has VGA & DVI-D connections. My current setup is a Samsung SyncMaster (VGA) to PC (DVI-D). Would this same connection be suitable for the new monitor? Is there a better alternative? Thanks.

Monitor also has VGA port therefore it should work. My suggestions above are to make the task simpler. The option from DVI-D (machine) to HDMI (monitor) in this situation is the best.

Its specs

        https://support.hp.com/au-en/document/c06640516#AbT3

It has input ports  1 VGA and 1 HDMI 1.4. Your machine has VGA & DVI-D. You can use

  • VGA to VGA  using VGA cable or better
  • DVI-D to HDMI using DVI to HDMI cable (direct,  no need converter)

                   For example

I'll clarify, I'm currently using a VGA/DVI-D Cable on my system now. Configuration: VGA connector on Samsung SyncMaster monitor, DVI-D connector on PC tower. Will this type of cable work for the HP p24v g4? Thanks.
