My monitor is an HP 24mh. I'd like to add another small monitor that accepts HDMI input only. Can I daisy-chain them together with a VGA to HDMI cable?

No, daisy chain does not support HDMI nor VGA even USB-C. Please use the following Guide

Thanks for the link. My monitor is an HP24mh. It has a DisplayPort in port but not an "out" port. So I guess I can use this as the end monitor in the chain, but will need to buy a new monitor that has both "in" and "out" ports.
