I have these light colored circles that show up at random on either side of the screen and my mouse keeps jumping to these dots and I have virtually no control of my mouse. Is there a real solution to this problem?

@EmuFly

Thank you for the update,

I appreciate your time and efforts,

Here's the article to find product number (again) not sure why that didn't work: http://support.hp.com/rs-en/document/c03754824

That said, I also need the answers to the query: is this a touch enabled computer? which operating system are you using and if you could perhaps send me a screenshot of the dancing or spinning circles?

Keep me posted,

If the information I've provided was helpful,

Give us some reinforcement by clicking the solution and kudos buttons,

That'll help us and others see that we've got the answers!

Good Luck.

@EmuFly

Welcome to the HP Forums!

I understand you have certain circles on the screen and the mouse seems to be jumping around on its own,

I'll be glad to help you out, however, for an accurate solution I will need more details:

What is the product number of your product? Use this link to find it: http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c03754824

Have you attempted any steps on your own before posting on the HP Forums?

When was the last time it worked without these issues? Have you attempted a system restore?

Which operating system are you using?

Is this computer touch enabled?

Please reply with the details for further assistance.

Eager to help!

Feel free to post your query for any other assistance as well,

It's been a pleasure interacting with you and I hope you have a good day ahead.

If you wish to show appreciation for my efforts, mark my post as Accepted Solution.

The linkmused to find product number has this error message: 404 page not found, so I do not have product number.

So far I have:

made sure I have the latest graphics driver. downloaded latest.

tested it in windows safe mode. still happens.

changed resolution to see if that worked. no change,

changed out wireless keyboard and wireless mouse. no change.

tried to see if any connection between programs and start of problem..none that I could find.

Sometimes it starts righ away on turn on, other times it takes 5 to 10 minutes. Once it starts, it does not go away unles I tutn the computer off. Sometimes I can use alt f and other times I have to turn the power off from the strip.

It's obvious that I am in over my head so I'll give you the best info I can:

Touch Support with 10 touch points

Intel Core i7-6700T CPU 2.8 GH

Ram 16 GB

Edition: Windows 10 Home version 1607 OS Build 14393.693

Main programs are:

MS office pro 2007

Kaspersky Internet Security 2016

Google Chrome

Modzilla Firefox

I have used the following people for help before this forun.

Microsoft tech support. Used remote access to my computer and changed a bunch of drivers..ultimately did not fix the problem, he said " I think it's hardware related"

Talked with Data Doctors, Best buy's Geek Squad, Staples tech and Office Max tech all sort of said NEVER had this problem, come in and we wiil see if we can ID the problem for X amount of dollars, then we'll see IF we can fix it .

Not giving anyone a deal like that.

I don't know how to give you a screen shot,,Sorry, I told you I am way over my head in knowledge here.

Hi @EmuFly,

Thank you for replying,

I appreciate your time and efforts,

I understand you have already contacted other tech support as well as Microsoft tech support who have confirmed this could be a hardware issue before you could contact our HP phone support, I would suggest you try these steps here:

I saw your post about the display sensor issue and understand that the auto-touch and cursor jumps stopped after the touchscreen was disabled,

I recommend checking if the Touch is working on BIOS (Accessed by tapping on F10 while restarting the computer).

If it works on bios, it's a software issue: please reinstall the display drivers, install the latest updates for the display adapters and BIOS, if the issue persists, you could reinstall the windows using the recovery partition or the recovery media to fix the issue

If it doesn't work on BIOS either, it's a hardware failure and you may need to contact HP to set up a hardware repair service.

Please respond to this post with the result of your troubleshooting. I look forward to hearing from you.

Thank you for your responce. I have taken my computer in to a Microsoft store where the found the trouble to be either in a digitiser circuit or the touch screen itself. As, of course, it is out of warranty by only 6 weeks I decide to trun off the touch screen feature and now the computer works fine.

Agin thank you for your help in sending in the right direction.
