HP Pavilion Desktop PC TP01-3000i (4M0K0AV)
Microsoft Windows 11

Hello all,

I just bought the HP TP01-3000i desktop and purchased an Innocn 27M2U monitor to go along with it. The desktop is running a UHD 770 graphics card on Windows 11. When I tried booting up the desktop for the first time, it didn't show up on the monitor. I thought the monitor may be broken so I tried my PS5 on the monitor using the same HDMI cable (a high speed with ethernet HDMI cord that came with the monitor). I also was able to successfully mirror my Acer laptop on the monitor using the same cord.

Thinking the desktop was the issue, I found an old Vizio 27 inch TV in my closet and hooked it up to the computer and it displayed the computer with no issue. Needless to say, I am very confused why the computer and monitor both seem to work correctly, just not with each other.

Other trouble shooting items I have tried are power cycling both the monitor and desktop, trying 4 different HDMI cables, and even tried an HDMI to DisplayPort adapter all with no luck. I confirmed that both HDMI ports on my monitor are working with both my laptop and PS5.

I'm not sure how to troubleshoot any further so any ideas would be much appreciated!

Thank you,

Jimmy

@JimmyCsCheese,

Welcome to our HP User Forum!

Please take a look at this (very dated!) HP instructional video, specifically at timestamp: 3:22 ("Change the display resolution") and timestamp: 9:03 ("Disable power settings in the BIOS"), as it may make a difference.

Also, see if your new 4K monitor works through your desktop (assuming you got a processor with integrated graphics), after you removed your graphics card.

Hope this was helpful.

Thank you for taking the time to reply. Would you mind linking the video again, I don't see it.

Ok, so I disabled the UHD 770 graphics card and am running the Microsoft Basic Display Driver and the monitor works!

Does this mean the monitor is not compatible with UHD 770? Seems pointless to keep the monitor if it won't work with the graphics card in my desktop.

Thank you again for the troubleshooting tips!

@JimmyCsCheese,

You are most welcome!

My bad, here is the missing YouTube link: The Computer Starts but the Monitor is Blank - Windows 8 Desktops | HP Computers | @HPSupport - YouT....

What graphics card are you referring to?  The Intel UHD Graphics 770 is integrated graphics you find on a processor, such as an i9-12900.
