My desktop is new (only 4–5 months old), but it is not turning on. Please help me with this issue. I have also uploaded a video for your reference.

Hi @Sourav57,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

Thank you for reaching out to our Support, and thank you for sharing the images. I understand your desktop/monitor setup is only a few months old and is not powering on. We’ll help you check a few things first. From the photos, this appears to be an HP monitor connected to your desktop setup. Let’s start with some basic power checks:

1. Check the power connection

  • Make sure the power cable is firmly connected at both ends
  • Try plugging the power cable directly into a different wall outlet
  • Avoid using extension boards temporarily for testing

2. Check the power light

  • Press the power button on the monitor/desktop and check:
    • Do you see any LED lights?
    • Any blinking light?
    • Any fan noise from the desktop?

3. Disconnect all external devices

  • Remove USB devices, printers, external drives, etc.
  • Keep only:
    • Power cable
    • Keyboard
    • Mouse
    • Monitor cable

Then try powering it on again.

4. Perform a power reset

  1. Turn the system off completely
  2. Disconnect the power cable
  3. Press and hold the power button for 15–20 seconds
  4. Reconnect the power and try turning it on again

5. Check monitor input/source

If the desktop seems to power on, but there’s no display:

  • Press the monitor menu/input button
  • Ensure the correct input source (HDMI/DisplayPort) is selected

I hope this helps.

Take care and have an amazing day!

I'm an HP Employee.
