HP Pavilion Power 580-023w
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hello, I have an HP Pavilion Power 580-023w and I have a Lenovo M14 portable display I wish to connect via USB-C.  When I connect it to the USB-C port on my Pavilion, I get a Windows error notification that states "Display Connection Might Be Limited".  The M14 product page says my USB-C port on my PC needs to support "Display Port 1.2 Alt Mode and PD2.0". I can't find that information anywhere on HP's website.

How can I determine if my USB-C port on my Pavilion supports Display Port 1.2 Alt Mode and PD2.0? The product page for my desktop does not ansewr this question:

Thanks for any help!

@Bradastan

As you can see clearly from its specs, it has:

                USB 3.0-Type C: 1

You need at least USB 3.1 Gen 1 port to be able to use monitors (but not all machines).

Regards.

Thanks very much, I wasn't aware that version 3.1 was needed for the display over USB-C.  I will look into getting an expansion card that supports USB-C 3.1.  Thanks!
