My computer is used mainly for PowerPoint presentations.
The main display is HDMI while the Second display is a VGA connected projector.
The machine defaults to the VGA display as the primary display.
I want to make the HDMI display the primary display.
I can select the display options but next time I start the computer it has reverted to the VGA as the primary display.
How do I lock the settings so that the HDMI display is the main display. It identifies as display 2.

You did not mention your computer system.
I suspect the problem is the projector is already on when the computer is turn on and there is a delay in the monitor waking up.
The computer selects the projector as the primary display and a second later sees the monitor and makes it the secondary.
Turn the projector on after the computer is working
Alternately (I am guessing) instead of turning the computer off, put it to sleep. When it wakes up it should remember the settings and not have to scan for hardware.
