macOS 12.0 Monterey

Hi,

I am connecting my macbook pro (2021 M1) to the E243d monitor via USB-C to USB-C. However when the laptop first starts the USB ports on the monitor are not recognised. I need to physically remove and re-insert the usb-c cable into the MacBook to get them working. This happens everytime I boot my laptop.

I have another monitor/hub from another manufacturer connected to another usb-c port on my MacBook and it doesn't experience the same problem. I have tried switching between the ports on the MacBook and this hasn't resolved it.

Can someone suggest a way that the ports would be recognised on first start up please?

I am not a Mac expert.  My kids all have Macs so I know a littler.  From googling previous  requests here for help with multipole monitors google shows that Big Sur has issue with both docking stations and the books themselves.  If the problem was with an HP laptop I check for bios and driver updates.   Please go over to the Apple form and l/ or the developer forum and poke around and ask questions.  The following is from MacRumors

However, it is also possible the HP monitor is not waking up the USB ports when it wakes up.

Try putting it to sleep, wait 30 seconds, then have it wake up.  That might jar the monitor.  If the moinitor shows the same symptoms with a windows pc then bring to support if in warrantee
