Product: E243m

I have an E243m monitor with the inbuilt webcam and I cannot seem to get it to work. I saw a post that recommends using the usb a to usb b cable, but my G6 tower does not have the usb b port. If I bought an adapter would that work or is there another way? Seems odd to not be able to use two HP products together. Thanks in advance.
