HP Omen Desktop
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Does anyone know how to disable the FN combo keypress requirement for standard F1 thru F12 functionality? HP support tells me it cannot be done on the HP Omen. I'm stuck having to press FN + F1 thru F12 which is crazy. Normally this option is available in BIOS or using FN + Left Shift or FN + Esc or I've even seen FN + CTRL + Left Shift. None of this worked for me! I'm blown away that HP is selling gaming laptops without the ability to remove the FN lock! The specific keyboard I have is an HP wired that came packaged with the HP Omen desktop. It does not have any LED indication of FN lock or not which may be confirmation that this keyboard (and/or?) PC does not let you remove FN lock! Thanks for any help or input.

Hello
no unfortunately it is not possible
The options known in bios, work with laptops.
A desktop computer with a separate keyboard, does not have the same function, maybe that is why the function is not in the bios.
Other users have been told to try specialized software to configure the keys, but this does not seem to work, or be adapted to the demand!
In all the answers already seen, the only solution seems to be the purchase of a keyboard, without this type of key!
This is what I did with my pc!

Yep, on desktop, the keyboard runs the show. Thanks.

Some folks though are saying to buy older keyboards without the multifunction function keys. You can still get a newer keyboard as long as it has the FN on/off switch (or key combo) on the keyboard itself. I  bought the latest greatest (company starts with L and ends with h) keyboard out right now and it works great. BTW highly recommend this keyboard. The model is called MX Keys. I'm in heaven with my standard function keys back and when I want multimedia functions I simply use the combination of keys (in other words media functions are secondary)!
