The fact that it works with your finger makes me think it's not a problem with your screen, rather it's a problem with the stylus. The same thing that makes the touch screen respond to your finger should make it respond to the stylus.

I have the same issue with my HP 15 notebook. I can use my finger but rubber tipped styluses do not work, nor do hard tipped ones like for a Nintendo DS. I don't want to have to spend a large amount of money on a pen if possible, so if iIcan find a cheap one that works that would be great but so far no luck. Is it maybe a setting that has to change?
