HP ENVY All-in-One 27-b1XX
Microsoft Windows 10 (32-bit)

I am trying to connect a second monitor to my HP Envy. It obviously connects on some level, because the HP logo is displayed on the second monitor after restart. However, when it goes to the login screen, the second monitor switches to "no signal." I have tried updating the drivers for the second monitor, graphics cards, and display adapters. I even uninstalled and reinstalled the display adapters. The hdmi cable is new and connected to the "hdmi out" port. The second monitor is brand new. The input on the second monitor is set to hdmi. Despite all this, the display panel says, "Didn't detect another display."

Please help. I've attached screenshots of the system information and display information.Capture.PNGCapture2.PNGCapture3.PNG

Welcome to HP Community

I have gone through your Post and would like to help

I suggest you download and run the HP Support Assistant from this Link: https://www8.hp.com/us/en/campaigns/hpsupportassistant/hpsupport.html?jumpid=va_r602_us/en/any/psg/p...

HPSA will automatically search for all the latest drivers for your Notebook

  1. Click My devices in the top menu, and then click Updates in the My PC or My notebook pane.

Click Updates in the My notebook pane

  2. Click Check for updates and messages to scan for new updates.

Updates list in HP Support Center

  3. Review the list of updates. Updates with a yellow information icon are recommended. Updates with a blue information icon are optional.

  4. Click the update name for a description, version number, and file size.

  5. Select the box next to any updates you want to install, and then click Download and install.

Also ensure Windows is up to date.

Select the Start  button, and then go to Settings  > Update & security  > Windows Update , and select Check for updates. If Windows Update says your device is up to date, you have all the updates that are currently available

Keep me posted how it goes

Thank you and have a wonderful day 😊

Thank you for your response.

I've done what was reccomended and, unfortuneately, my second monitor is still not working. I've attached some screenshots that will offer more detail. Resized_20200904_094050.jpegResized_20200904_094309.jpegCapture6.PNGCapture5.PNGCapture8.PNGCapture7.PNG

Try reinstalling the Graphics Driver from Device Manager

- Select the Start  button, type Device Manager, and select it from the list of results.
- Look for Display Adapters and expand the List
- Look for Graphics Driver then right-click it, and select Update Driver.
- Select Search automatically for updated driver software.
- If these steps don't work, try reinstalling the driver: Open Device Manager, right-click the Graphics driver and select Uninstall. Restart your PC and Windows will attempt to reinstall the driver.

Thank you again for your response. I've followed all the steps you've suggested and, still, the second monitor does not work.

Was the secondary monitor working before?

I was told the monitor worked before I inherited the computer.

As a last resort, I suggest you perform a Reset on the computer and then run all the HP and Windows update

Then try using the external montior

Keep me posted
