Touch smart 520
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have a Touchsmart 520 and am trying to set up a second monitor so I can extend my desktop to another screen. If I use a VGA video adaptor will this work? Or will this simply mirror the screen rather than extending / spanning across the two screens? I am looking to extend / span rather than mirror.
Thanks

What is your HP TouchSmart 520 ? For example HP TouchSmart 520-1030, its specs:

It does not have video out port. You have to use USB-video out. Please read the following information first

               https://www.startech.com/au/faq/usb-video-adapters-what-is-a-usb-video-adapter

For example

Regards.

Thanks very much - have got it working.

One further question - I am using a USB to HDMI video adapter which can cope with 1080p and is set to that resolution in the adapter settings, but when I try and change the resolution of my second monitor to 1080 in Display settings, the picture goes blank. It only seems to take a lower resolution. Is this a known issue with a second monitor on a Touchsmart 520 1030? I have disabled the touchscreen capability.
Thanks
