OMEN Transcend 31.5 inch UHD 240Hz OLED Gaming Monitor - OMEN Transcend 32
Microsoft Windows 11

By default, the monitor runs its USB uplink in USB 3.2 + video mode. That splits bandwidth between USB data and DisplayPort, which makes the video handshake super unstable (black screens, no signal after boot, games launching in tiny windows, etc.).

The fix:

  1. Open the OSD (press joystick button on the back/bottom).

  2. Go to Input → USB C Configuration

  3. Change from USB 3.2 + VideoUSB 2.0 + Video.

  4. Restart the monitor.

Why this works:
USB 2.0 mode frees all 4 lanes for DisplayPort video instead of sharing with USB data. The monitor stops flaking out because it has a clean, stable video link.

What you lose:

  • The monitor’s USB hub will only run at USB 2.0 speeds (fine for keyboard/mouse/headset dongles).

  • You won’t get fast SSD transfers or HP Gear Switch KVM speeds through the monitor.

What you keep:

  • Full 4K HDR 120 Hz (or even 240 Hz if DSC is enabled or using DP 2.1).

  • Stable boot every time.

  • No more black screens, no more tiny windowed game launches.

If you don’t use Gear Switch or plug fast drives into your monitor, this change is basically all upside.
